Discover the charm of historic towns on the Ohře River and the surrounding countryside from the saddle of your bike. The trip starts in Kadaň, which is an urban conservation area and home to tourist attractions such as Katovka – the narrowest street in the Czech Republic, the Franciscan monastery, the famous town hall tower, Kadaň Castle, and the Maxipes Fík embankment.
From Kadaň, cycle upstream along the Ohře River on the Maxipes Fík Embankment and across the unique Vít Branda Footbridge. Cross the Ohře River via the dam and follow the beautiful cycle path on the right bank to Rašovice. The Rašovice footbridge will take you back to the left bank of the river and to the town of Klášterec nad Ohří. The town got its name from a small monastery (klášterce), but today it is mainly known for its local spa and porcelain factory. Stop at the spa park and taste the local Evžénie mineral spring. You can refresh yourself at the local Loděnice Restaurant with its pleasant outdoor seating. The castle with its porcelain museum and observation tower is also worth a visit. We recommend taking the same route back to Kadaň. Even children can manage the leisurely 20 km along the safe and comfortable bike path.
